Wanderbird Adventure 2027

Eight days of making choices, climbing, flying and moving forward. Not just to reach the finish, but to stand on the start line stronger than ever before.

The preparation revolves around one clear goal: 900 vertical metres in no more than 80 minutes, with enough endurance to repeat that effort day after day. Every training session adds another piece to the story.

Wet, tough and exactly right.

Today was one of those training days when everything came together: 12 kilometres, nearly 500 metres of ascent and plenty of wet trail through a beautiful landscape.

Luckily, Peter was out there with me again. His company was especially welcome on the final two 50-metre climbs, when my legs really began to feel the work. That is where progress happens: continuing when it gets tough, without forcing the build-up.

The rain made the session harder, but the surroundings made up for everything. The heather was in full bloom and wild horses roamed freely across the landscape. Heavy legs, a clear head and another beautiful step towards Wanderbird Adventure 2027.

Why I do this

Outdoors, I find the space to look further ahead.

Adventure is not an escape for me. It is focus. The mountain makes everything simple: one step, one decision and then the next.

Hike & fly brings together everything that drives me — hard physical effort, freedom in the air and finding solutions when the journey does not go according to plan.
